About Vasco da Gama Tower
Vasco da Gama Tower is one of the most emblematic of the city. Its architecture is an allusion to the ancient ships that took Vasco da Gama to India. Its structure is prepared to resist 320 km/hour winds.
Located by the Tejo River, Vasco da Gama Tower was designed by the architects' Nick Jacobs and Leonor Janeiro for Expo 98, which had the Oceans as its main theme.
Although it was built as an observation tower with panoramic lifts, Torre Vasco da Gama is currently a luxury hotel that opened in 2013.
