BeCharged arises within the framework of a growing demand for the electrification of mobility and the challenges of energy planning and management. The project aims to develop inductive systems for electric car charging and smart lighting systems in concrete structures. The BeCharged project focuses on the development of two strands:
— A system for induction car charging, through the wireless transfer of energy between a charging platform on the ground and another located on the bottom part of the vehicle. This technology can be used in garages and parking lots, with reduced risk of vandalism;
— A pavement-embedded lighting system (e.g., pedestrian zones close to crosswalks). Integrated into concrete structures with LED and induction microsystems, the light emitting devices warns drivers of pedestrian proximity.
In 2021, the BeCharged project received the Innovation Award at the Tektónica fair.
